Building a legacy

It's time to celebrate more of Corry's alumni who are doing great things! We are proud to introduce the Anthony Family Charitable Trust, a foundation built from a deep love of hometown and a lifelong belief in doing what’s right for the people and the town of Corry.Class of 1973 Michael Anthony says his parents carried a lifelong passion for the place that shaped them. After his mom passed away five to six years ago, he established a scholarship through The Erie Community Foundation in her honor. But he knew he wanted to make an even bigger impact. With Vicki Frank Stec and Mary Gentile Bailey stepping up in a powerful partnership, they created the Anthony Family Charitable Trust to expand their reach and invest more deeply in Corry’s future. With the guidance of Bill West and an incredible advisory team, they developed a plan to reward hard work, character, and potential. Over the next 10 years, the Trust is committing approximately $1 million to support students and strengthen our schools. Each year, five scholarships — up to $20,000 over a four-year period — will be awarded. These scholarships are not limited to traditional four-year colleges; they may support welding, police academy training, entrepreneurship, education degrees, and other meaningful career paths. Recipients must earn a 3.0 GPA in their first year and maintain a 3.3 GPA in subsequent years to continue receiving support. Scholarship categories include:• Class of 1973 Scholarship – for descendants of our classmates
Idabelle Anthony Education Scholarship – for students pursuing education
Vicki Stec Scholarship – supporting nontraditional students
Frank Anthony Entrepreneurial Scholarship – for students who demonstrate business initiative and whose story speaks to perseverance and drive
Westminster College Scholarship – designated support for students attending Westminster College Applications will be submitted through the school. The guidance team will review applicants and provide recommendations, alongside a third-party partner to ensure a thoughtful and fair process. In addition to scholarships, the Trust will invest $5,000 annually into a teacher development program — supporting educators and programs that strengthen our schools from within. This Trust is about legacy. It’s about partnership. And most importantly, it’s about believing in the young people of Corry and giving them the opportunity to build strong futures — right here at home.
