Alumni Spotlight--April 2026

Wed. Apr. 1

The Corry Alumni community is proud to highlight the inspiring work of Executive Director Kat DiVittorio (class of 2007), founder of the DiVittorio Center for Autism. The DiVittorio Center for Autism was born from both profound personal experience and a deep commitment to the Corry community. After her son’s autism diagnosis, Kat encountered barrier after barrier while seeking local care, education, support services, and even a sense of community within Corry. What should have been accessible resources were instead waitlists, transportation challenges, financial obstacles, and limited rural options. Through the Jefferson Educational Society’s Raimy Fellowship, Kat devoted extensive scholarly research to understanding the depth of these challenges. What she confirmed was sobering: families across Corry and rural Pennsylvania were waiting not only for services, but for answers, advocacy, and opportunity. Determined to change that reality, Kat founded the DiVittorio Center for Autism — a rural autism support hub and educational facility in Corry, Pennsylvania. The Center is designed to remove the barriers that so often limit families in rural communities. It offers education, therapeutic programming, diagnostic services, advocacy, and meaningful community connection — all in one accessible location. At its heart, the DiVittorio Center exists to ensure that every individual on the autism spectrum has the opportunity to live a life that celebrates who they are. Through vision, research, and relentless dedication, this Corry alumna is transforming frustration into hope and need into action for families across the region.

The Center will be holding an open house on April 18 at the old St. Thomas School building. We hope to see you there!
